Former Meredith resident Destiny has many happy memories at the Meredith Public Library. Even though she was technically too young, her favorite author of all time was Stephen King. "I remember when we would go there and hang out and I would be looking in the Stephen King section. I was too young for King but loved his books anyway!! He's forever been my favorite author," she writes.
On other mischievous visits, her and her friend Tina would escape the rain, play puzzles, and sneak into the costume room to try on costumes. But, always, King remains most in her memory. "One time, I rode into aubuchons with mom so I could hangout down town all day and I couldn't find anyone to hang out with because the weather was bad. So I went to the library and sat and read a new King book all day."
Her little brother would head towards the movies, his favorites in particular being Power Rangers, Barney, and The Little Rascals.
When asked what her favorite King novel is, she replied: " If I had to pick one of my favorites, the first one I ever read, which got me hooked in the first place, Firestarter."
Thanks Destiny!
